Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My processor does all my fraud screening. Why would I need your course?

A: No matter how much fraud screening is done, you, as a Card Not Present merchant, are still 100% liable for all losses from any fraud that manages to get through. Remember, if you have too many chargebacks, your merchant account and your ability to accept credit cards as a form of payment will be in jeopardy. You need the ability to review the work of your processor's fraud screening. After taking this course, you will be able to do that. Additionally no fraud screening, no matter how good it is, will protect you from the growing plague of "Cyber–Shoplifters," the 'customers' that receive your product and then tell their issuing bank that they didn't. Unless you know how to track these transactions to the source and have a legal and enforceable contract on your site, you have no chance of recovering your goods or your money. Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks will give you the knowledge you need to help you deal with these crooks.

Q: I've been in business for several years and never had a chargeback. Why do I need Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks?

A: Fraud on the Internet is growing at an alarming rate. Depending on the reports you read, these losses have risen by as much as 300% since 1999 and reached $3 Billion [CyberSource(R)] in 2006! New fraud tactics are implemented each and every day. Sooner or later, you WILL be a victim, and if the first attempt is successful, it won't be the last.  The carders will be in their chat rooms and news groups spreading the word that you are an easy target. Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks gives you the knowledge you need to recognize attempted fraud before it becomes a fraudulent transaction, as well as how to protect yourself from "Cyber-Shoplifters," the 'customers' that receive your product and then tell their issuing bank that they didn't.

Q: My only chargebacks are the "Cyber–Shoplifters." Why do I need your course.

A: Cyber shoplifting is a rapidly growing concern and, without proper techniques and legal language on your site, you will have little chance of recovering those losses. For a successful rebuttal, you'll need to provide credible evidence the disputed transactions occurred between you and the "Cyber–Shoplifter." Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks provides you with the knowledge you need to create a system that provides the necessary credible evidence that the "Cyber-Shoplifter" purchased the goods from you.

Q: I'm already paying too much for fraud screening!

A: How much is "too much" when you consider that one large fraudulent transaction could put you in the red – or worse? Credit Card Company regulations state that if as little as 1% of your credit card volume results in chargeback, you can have your merchant account terminated. The Card Not Present fraud rate hovers around 2%–3% of all transactions; The odds are stacked against you! You must have sound fraud screening methods in place to deal with the potentially fraudulent transactions that your processor flags for manual review. And remember that no matter how much you're paying for your fraud screening, your provider isn't going to be liable for the financial loss of fraud – you are. For the cost of a few chargeback fees, Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks could save your business.

Q: My e–commerce system doesn't give me any information to screen for fraud. What good would your course be for me?

A: Maybe it's time to change processors? As a Card Not Present merchant you are always 100% liable for financial losses from fraud. Any e–commerce system that doesn't give you the information you need to screen for fraud is not protecting your interests. Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks will tell you what you should expect from your e–commerce provider.

Q: Fraud tactics are constantly changing. How do I know that your course will assist me with the latest fraud scams?

A: Great question. Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks teaches you fundamental principals that all CNP merchants need to know in order to identify potential fraud and prevent themselves from becoming a victim. You'll also learn what systems are needed to protect yourself against "Cyber–Shoplifters". With these principals and systems in place, you will be able to apply them to the latest fraud tactics and prevent yourself from becoming a victim of fraud. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that Preventing E–Commerce Chargebacks is always up to date, addressing the latest cutting edge issues. Because of this fact, you should take this course at least once a year to fine tune your "preventing e-commerce chargeback" skills. Also, we periodically update the downloadable resources to inform you of any new tactics that are being used by the carders.

Q: What is your return policy? or what if I am unsatisfied with the program?

A: Your satisfaction is our concern.  If after paying for and viewing the complete program, you are not 100% satisfied with the course, we will refund the purchase price to you. All you will have to do to obtain this refund is to contact use at refund@preventchargebacks.com within 90 days of your purchase.
